The delightful town of Sherborne is only 7 miles away. There is the Abbey, two castles, attractive shops and good restaurants. Dorchester is 18 miles away, Salisbury 30 miles and Bath about 40 miles.

Nearby Sights

There are a number of National Trust properties. Our favourites are Stourhead Gardens (just off the A303) which has beautiful gardens as well as a lovely house, Kingston Lacy and Montacute House. Longleat Safari Park is a great day out, with a fantastic house as well as the animals.

Day at the Races

We enjoy days at Wincanton and Taunton Race Courses.

Local Walks

We can suggest easy walks from the village (and lend you a map). If you want to go further afield, then there are beautiful walks all over Dorset. The coast is only 30 miles away, where you can walk on the cliffs of the Jurassic Coast.
