From London or Exeter on the A303:
Leave the A303 at Wincanton taking the exit marked A371 and Blandford A357. Follow A357 for 8 miles to Stalbridge, crossing the A30 at Henstridge traffic lights. In Stalbridge turn sharp right at the Post Office, just before the road becomes single lane with priority arrows, up Barrow Hill. Keeping the high stone wall on your right, continue down a steep hill to a right hand bend then take the next left turn signposted to Stourton Caundle. When you enter the village carry straight on. You will pass the Trooper Inn. Golden Hill Cottage is the thatched cottage on the left at the top of the short hill after the Trooper.
From Sherborne or Dorchester:
Leave A352 to take A3030 by toll house approximately 1 mile south of Sherborne. Continue to far end of Bishops Caundle and take left turning signed Stourton Caundle. After 1.5 miles you enter the village. Once in the village, Golden Hill Cottage is on the right just before a hill down to the Trooper Inn.
From Sturminster Newton and Blandford:
Continue on A357 past turning for Sherborne (A3030) and take the next turning left by toll house up Waterloo Lane signed to Stourton Caundle. Take the next left at the top of the hill. As you enter the village, follow the road round to the right. Golden Hill Cottage is on the right just before a hill down to the Trooper Inn.
