Golden Hill Cottage is a charming thatched Grade II Listed building in a peaceful Dorset village near Sherborne. With only one guest bedroom and a private sitting room, you are promised a homely and undisturbed stay.
The beautiful, spacious sitting room has luxurious easy chairs, an open fire and television. We will serve your breakfast here, at a time agreed with you. A private staircase leads to the twin bedded room above. You will find this most comfortably furnished and complete with basin, en-suite shower and WC. There is, of course, full central heating.
A short walk down the street is the delightful village pub, The Trooper, serving a variety of ales, lunches every day except Monday and evening meals from Wednesday to Saturday. There are glorious walks through the local farmland from the village. The historic Abbey town of Sherborne, with its picturesque streets, excellent shops and restaurants and two ancient castles, is 7 miles away. Thomas Hardy's Dorset is all around, with Dorchester (Casterbridge) 18 miles away.
We are just over two hours from London and twenty minutes off the A303 at Wincanton.
