Golden Hill Cottage is a charming thatched Grade II Listed building situated in a peaceful village setting in the heart of the Blackmore Vale, Dorset.
There are glorious walks from the village and a short walk down the street is the delightful village pub, The Trooper, where a variety of unusual ales are served. The historic Abbey town of Sherborne, with its picturesque streets, excellent shops and restaurants and two ancient castles, is 7 miles away. There are many other interesting places to visit within easy reach, such as Longleat House and Safari Park, Stourhead with its magnificent lake, temples and woodland walks to Alfred's Tower, the National Trust properties of Kingston Lacy and Montacute House or the Light Railway at Templecombe, to mention just a few. There is a good choice of sporting activities in the area and in the season (October to April) there is horse racing at Wincanton and Taunton.
The cottage provides accommodation for a maximum of two guests, having their own staircase to a comfortable twin-bedded room with basin and en-suite shower and WC. Guests have a spacious sitting room/dining room downstairs with luxurious easy chairs, television and open fire. There is full central heating. Breakfast time can be arranged to suit our guests but it will normally be between 8.00am and 9.30am.
